1st day: Participants arrival in Apulia, hotel accommodation. In the first evening it’s possible to take a place to The Mass of the Lord’s Supper commemorates Christ’s bathing of the feet of the Apostles. In the evening return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day: In the first morning h. 3.30am departure for Molfetta for to see Easter ritual known as procession of “cinque misteri” between the streets of ancient town. In the morning return to hotel, breakfast and free time. In the afternoon departure for Ruvo di Puglia for to see Easter ritual where the participants dressed in traditional costumes representing the personalities involved in the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. In the evening return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
3rd day: Breakfast in hotel, in the morning departure for Alberobello, guided visit of the little town famous all over the world for its “trulli”, typical house buildings,today heritage of UNESCO. Lunch at restaurant. In the afternoon departure for Ruvo di Puglia, visit of the Cathedral and the National Archeological Jatta Museum. Break to farm for to see the preparation of Easter sweets. In the evening return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
4th day: Breakfast in hotel, in the morning departure for Ruvo di Puglia; Holy Week celebrations end with Easter Sunday, when the merry parade of “Cristo Risorto”, showing Jesus resurrected, starts from S. Domenico church. During the parade the “Quarantana” is set off, as a propitiatory rite. “Quarantanas are dummies looking like old women wearing a black dress. It is the victory of life over death. Lunch at restaurant.In the afternoon visit of castle “Castel del Monte”, the mysterious octagonal manor, heritage of UNESCO; at the end visit of Trani, the Cathedral and Svevo Castle. In the evening return to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
5th day: Breakfast in hotel, tour end.
